I have discovered that if you listen carefully to the book, you can 
reunite the text. I started that today. I would probably not know 
quite how if any spread over to another page. Not sure I've had to 
deal with that yet.

    Thanks, Mayrie. Based on my own failures at scanning books with
sidebars, I wonder if the book would come out any better, even if the
submitter rescans it. When I was on this list a couple of years ago, 
someone
posted some tips for scanning books with sidebars, which I tried to 
follow.
I still ended up with sidebars being split up and scattered on the 
page.

    I'm hoping that I can find a print copy of this book, and that the 
task
of fixing the sidebars will turn out to be less overwhelming than I
originally thought. I may as well get used to fixing them, since I 
mostly
scan nonfiction, and am likely to keep running into them. G!
