Yes, it would alter the book because sometimes they do say something else. I have the sense that we cannot take out things because then the book is not true to its original form. I, personally, leave them in. Sometimes they are an annoyance because they interrupt, but they often only break the flow some. Just my thought on it. Cindy Lou Ray. Each day is a new adventure. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paula and James Muysenberg" <outofsightlife@xxxxxxxxx> To: "Bkvol" <bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, March 26, 2008 9:32 PM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Dealing with Sidebars Thanks, Bob. I'm wondering: since sidebars tend to simply repeat something that is already somewhere on the page, is it really altering the text to delete them? They seem to simply be used to draw the eyes of a sighted reader to whatever is being emphasized. Even if I release the book, I think a validator would have to have the hard copy to straighten out all those sidebars.
