I agree with everyone to some extent. However, many of the children's books
Jamie and I add to the collection actually end up needing to be hand typed. I
cannot begin to tell you how many fonts are never correctly even recognized as
text. Because of that reason if Nichole brings home a book that is in the
collection, I usually check it out, often to find pages of missing text because
the person did not realize that there was text there that could not be
recognized by OCR. Many of the children's books have hand-painted fonts or
imaginary/created fonts to go with a theme. One might be an example of daggers
in the letters or flowers, neither of which are recognized as text by most
engines.

I do think if a person is needing credit toward their membership and they have
worked on the lengthy tomes or complex books including cookbooks and reference
books they should be able to request an additional sum as a reward. I mix in a
few tedious eyes necessary projects to help offset my easier ones and offer my
repairs to incomplete books with no reimbursement necessary.

If anyone needs assistance with their membership fees, I have credits to donate
and will gladly help.

Valerie
