Hi all,
Yes, the ribbons are a bit daunting at first, but if you remember that
they are a combination of the menu bar and the toolbar from earlier
versions, they're workable. There are keyboard combinations that work
for most of the ribbon controls. One good reference is the Windows7
and office 2007 keyboard command books from National Braille Press.
They're wonderful!
