A quick stop upstream of the Falls of the Ohio on the north side of the river
turned up bufflehead, p-b grebe, and 2 white-winged scoters today.
Stopping at Freeman Lake in Etown, I found 3 common loons in amazing fresh
breeding plumage, along with p.b and horned grebes, b-w teal, red-br.
mergansers, about 30 lesser scaup, 1 redhead, 1 ring-necked duck, 2 shovelers,
along with myriad numbers of mallards and coot.
