We hit a new record for this 34-year-old Christmas Bird Count yesterday,
with 77 species. It's the first time I remember that we had no big misses,
although a couple of them got a little coy with us. Merlins were new for the
count.
Participants included Bonnie Avery. Tom Durbin, Carol Friedman, Carol Huber,
Janet Kistler, Steve Kistler, Rickey Shively, Jeff Sole, Mitch Sturgeon,
Neil Troyer. As fine a day as we had, we were grieving the 2020 loss of our
long-time friend and thirty-year participant, John Brittain.
