Hi Everyone, While outside this morning I heard and saw a beautiful male Cerulean Warbler at the edge of the yard near the woods. Later while doing some yard work between showers I heard robins and catbirds from the upper end of the field sounding danger calls, as if some predator was nearby. I walked up that way and I could see several birds in the top of a locust tree. As I got nearer I saw through the foliage a bird with a long bill. When I moved to get a better look the bird flew to a dead tree a few feet away. I then realized that it was a Green Heron, a first for us in our 37 years here on Compton Mt. (photo attached). I got back to the house and grabbed my camera. I managed to get only a few photos before the heron flew to a farther tree. Roger Mayhorn Compton Mt
