Chris, you offered a perfect example on the sick leave variations. My County
Sheriff's office has short/long term disability, no more sick leave. So in the
same town we have variations.

The saddest thing is that we, as employees, have held up our end of the deal.
You are in Chicago. They have failed to pay into their police/fire pensions
for years and are millions if not billions behind. They have failed to live up
to their end. Now that we have identified the problem, what is the solution?
You see, the taxpayers have lived up to their end also.

I place the blame squarely on the liberals. They promise and promise and
promise and get elected. Then when the bill comes, they look for someone else
to pay it. That will no longer be tolerated by the taxpayers. Guess who have
to suffer? Us, the municipal employees.

So, what is the solution? We can carp all we want, but what are our choices??
