As I looked for an online source for cheap snowmobile boots,
I experienced a major "ah-hah". I remembered that the super-warm
and comfy boots that snowboarders wear are basically the same design and
concept as skimobile boots. The benefit is that these are available locally.
I
called Big 5 Sports and they have a number of styles on special for $59.95.

I was not able to locate any generic snowmobile boots like the "cheapies" I
used to wear but found some very good ones on line for $50.00. They are
rated
to -45F. That ought to be sufficient for 4 a.m. at Sentinel. Here's the
link:

I will post anyhting on generic chapies if I find them. A word of caution:
These
are for SERIOUS cold. Do not take only these boots as if it is not cold
enough,
you will sweat in them like crazy and the moisture will make your feet get
cold.

Didn't make it to Flatiron last night after all. Did anyone else? I'm now
planning for
Vekol tonight. See yah there.
