Not sure about the DEC being larger. If you have nothing to do today drive down to Tucson and talk to Starizona - call first... Before you commit yourself you should look at the DX mount. Its large and heavy. How much weight do you plan on putting on the mount? I wouldn't go over 30 pounds for the CGEM. I was hoping some had actually used the mount and could shed some light as far as the accuracy compared to the Atlas EQG. For me the CGEM is good enough. I purchased a tripod spreader from Deep Space Products and added 10 pounds of weight to the tripod. Does anyone have experience with the Celestron CGEM DX mount ? How is it as far as pointing accuracy, polar alignment, tracking etc. I have heard that the All Star alignment is good. I presently have an Atlas EQG , but am thinking about a CGEM DX. input please and thanks Ken Sikes -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list. -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list. -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list. -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list.
