[AZ-Observing] Re: Antennas Last Night

We saw a batch of what were presumably parachute flares (orange color,
poss. due to the low angle and distance) to the E-SE from GRCO in
Gilbert Friday evening, ca. 9 pm.
I presume these were released over the military firing range near
Florence Junction. The group of flares ("formation") slowly drifted to
the south for some minutes.
Some folks on the list who have observed previously with EVAC at our
"olde" site off state rd. 60 east of Florence Junction to Superior may
recall the flagpole and the gate to the north end of the military range
next to the road. The AZ Natl. Guard sometimes conducts night firing
exercises over there.

Another example of the infamous "Phoenix Lights", IMHO...
