Brian, et al; Just to set the record straight, I rated the Thursday at 5 Mile Meadow as a 9 out of 10...certainly much better than most nights recently. The Milky Way was very bright and the dark lanes from the Lagoon up through Cygnus were fascinating and had a very high contrast with the silvery glow of Our Galaxy. I sat down at one point and just started naked eye and with the small binoculars. It was half an hour of pure joy. Clear skies to us all; Steve Coe -----Original Message----- From: az-observing-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:az-observing-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Brian Skiff Sent: Friday, June 06, 2008 11:14 PM To: az-observing@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [AZ-Observing] Re: 5 Mile Meadow report >> ...affect Thursday night. We've had three more essentially identical nights here since last Thursday---including the one presently under way, which may be one of Steve C's "10 out of 10" nights. I'm going to go out now and stare at it some more from the telescope dome catwalk. \Brian -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list. -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list.
