It would be far more efficient to record the entire album in one go
and separate the tracks manually wherever the silences occur. After
the track ends, simply move the cursor to that position and select to
the beginning of the track, cut your selection, open a new file or
track and paste it. This way, you don't have to worry about pressing
Shift+R before the new track begins during playback.
