Hi Kristoffer,
you could run a program to test the directsound on you computer.
1. Run the program dxdiag.exe. A window with the title directx diagnostic tool,
should open.
2. It may take a minute or two to run it's tests. Tab to the save all
information button, and press it.
A save as dialog opens and you can choose where to save the file dxdiag.txt.
3 In this file, following the phrase DxDiag notes, there's a summary of whether
problems were found. Following the phrase sound devices, there's more info
about drivers.
4 If you want to, you can attach the file to a message to this list.
David.

Hi.
I'm trying to record in audacity.
but I don't get any recording at all.
I select the device that I want to record from, press the record
shortcut, but nothing happens.
I stop the record, and then press play. nothing at all.
What can be wrong here?
/Kristoffer
