For many years now I have not used the Boot:Run facility at all on
any of my machines. I do a completely clean boot, so unless Boot
itself has been broken by an upgrade there should be no problem. I
then use a custom obey file (pinned to the backdrop) to launch any
apps I always have on the iconbar (eg Zap, SparkFS). That way any
upgrades or additions to the apps run do not break the boot sequence
itself.
It's something to think about.
