Your excellent hints are now in place.
Have now managed to find the original manual after a search
that turned up lots of things I had forgotten about 8)
The manual is a simple 50 page A5 pamphlet. However, there are
pretty explicit copyright terms and copying, distribution
restrictions. Copyright owner is Cerilica.
Which no longer exists. The company was dissolved in 2003 -ish.
So who owns the copyright now?
IIRC they sold me 'Vantage'. If so: Given that Vantage was about
the most expensive bit of RO software I ever bought, and failed to
do what they had promised me it would *as a condition of sale*, My
reaction would be that if they argued about the above, I'd want to
argue about how much they owed *me* for software I bought on a
specific promise which they failed to deliver!
