I've seen claims that with the modern types of rechargable the 'optimum' is
to let them cycle from about 90-95% down to 10-20% of capacity for maximum
useful life, etc. But I have no idea if this is true. Nor, indeed, if most
indicaticators give reliable values for the actual level of energy storage
(and thus of the battery state).
NiCads were simpler, but we are now not allowed to have them without a note
from our parents. :-)
