you will see
-dipn: is the recommended command given at the end of the line beginning -d. It
is an instruction for the format of the diagnostic image.
the “i” command "creates a black and white version of the input raster in the
diagnostic output”
the “p” command "will show the sampling areas as colored pixels”
the “n” command "will show the ID names of the sampling boxes"
-G1.0:I use a linear gamma when processing my photographs. The usage summary
states "For instance, if linear light encoding ("Raw") is used, a -G value of
1.0 would be appropriate”. Incidentally, the default is 2.2.

No, it’s the input file of the chart's colour values.
The ouput file isn’t specified, it is generated with the same name as the
TIFF.
So in this case the output is a file called scanner.ti3 in the same
directory as the TIFF.
IT8 measurement data is published by the manufacturer.
Go to their web site and you should find txt files for each batch of
manufactured charts.
