Have you read [Argyll]/doc/Scenarios.html#PS1 ?
To create the scanner .ti3 file, run the scanin tool as follows (assuming an
IT8 chart is being used):
scanin -v scanner.tif It8.cht It8ref.txt
You need the TIFF, a .cht file describing the layout of the chart that you are
using and a .cie file (or text file etc) containing the expected colour values
of each patch in the chart.
So you would normally use the text file supplied by the chart manufacturer.
If you have a spectro capable of reading your chart patches you can create your
own custom .ti3 file using chartread.
