What I did was dispwin -I profile.icc   ... I didn't try it with the cal
file.

Just gave it a try, using a white background on the 2nd monitor, I don't
see any change with dispread + colprof (for clarity, I don't see any change
in appearance on the 2nd monitor so that's good). The media white point
tags are still a bit curious though:
