The hardware is good, and the firmware is also good (after the
dithering issue fix in the A01 version) but they are artificially
limited in features.

It would be a very nice hardware if we could re-write those internal LUTs.
But it's very usable in the factory calibrated sRGB and AdobeRGB modes
(for softwares without CMS) and Standard modes (with high quality
software CMS).

Did you try to use the Standard mode (as I suggested) yet?
(I recommand to do the subjective testing with PhotoShop or MPC-HC and
10-bit output if your VGA is capable...)
