Greater than 8 bpc or dithering help this
case, as would a new dispcal algorithm.
BTW, dispcal told me that it was unable to
find the bit-width of the Video LUT;
I'm not sure what you mean.
I don't recall the exact command line to
dispcal, but the message was: "Unable to
determine Video LUT entry bit depth." This was
strange, because dispwin -r did turn the screen
dark, light and normal, and loading strange.cal
would work as well as saving the initial table
and restoring it. What did not work was -c or
linear.cal. However, in the meanwhile I have
updated my debian and installed the latest
nVidia driver. Since then, dispwin -r tells that
"We don't have access to the VideoLUT." So my
guess is that I won't be able to reproduce the
previous message. Should I worry about that?
ArgyllCMS currently has no code to set LUTs
Does this mean, that the video LUT is in the
video card rather than in the monitor?
