Mike, I know that T-Quoter will give you an additional period for review, but of course that's more of your time devoted to a program you are not sure you will use. As you probably know, Qbooks support is almost non-existent unless you pay for it. You may want to try their 30 day trial. I'm sure you'll find it less stressful. Feel free to contact me off this board if you need some industry related tips. I'm far from an expert, but will share what little knowledge I have. Its hard to know how the tech support is and how the software will act as it gets loaded with records. I guess its just a crap shoot sometimes. Its alot of work to get the software working the way you need and then find out its not any good. We use Quickbooks also and like it. I would use it if I could figure out how to tweak it for our industry. Mike Dean Zellman wrote: I too went through a group of different packages and ended up going back to Quickbooks, but the Manufacturing and Wholesale version. It doesn't have all the features you need, but as Qbooks users for 10 years, it cut down on the learning curve. I did find many useful features that I could customize. I tried a few add-on programs to Quickbooks, like Wilcom's BE ( I think that's the name) and was very disappointed. A salesman came out and had trouble installing it. That program slowed my computer to a crawl and was loaded with bugs. The tech support was abysmal, either not receiving responses or waiting days for them. Finally , the salesman stopped returning my calls. As a prospective buyer, you'd think they'd try to prove themselves at least until I'd invest my hard earned dough. Although I used T-Quoter for only a few days, it seemed to be a good program. I also tried Fast Manager, but gave up after an hour. It seems to be good. The problem I'm having is just to trial a software takes a big learning curve. I wish there was a chat list for software like this one to help make a decision. By the time I learn enough about each software package to make a decision we will be in the season... I would be interested in how you like Fast Manager as you get down the road. Mike Mike Body Cover wrote: Mike We are just no installing Fast Manager from U.S. Screen Institute The Freseners have been in the business forever and it's quite and impressive program. They offer a free 30 day full functioning demo. and if you need more time to figure it out just call and they'll re-up you for another 30 days no problem. Here's a spot to look into it. http://screenprinters.net/product.php?pid=fastmanager It's set up to run either Screenprinting or Embroidery or both. and can be very extensive or very simple. you can use all the features or just the couple you like, It will invoice as well as schedule, price and keep a database of design info and order info. Its around $1000 and additional users run $250 -$300 I think. Always cheaper if you make arrangements at a show. (Show Specials) I have been very impressed. and comes with the complete catalogs for Alpha, Broder , and SanMar to start with. including pricing. Just an FYI since we are just getting started in it's use, and don't feel I can give a real testimonial yet. Thats really what I am in the market for. The shop I work for is approaching the 500k mark. The invoicing and workorder paper suffle is killing us slowly. Mike Steve Cohen wrote: Mike, most suppliers have thier price lists in Excel format. If you have MS Office, Download the spreadsheet and set your prices. I set mine up in about 10 minutes. So for polo shirts, example, an XXL might cost you $2 more, an XXXL $3 more-and this translates into $4-$6 or HIGHER add-on markup to the retail! We run into it virtually every single order-tell the customer 'small to xtra large are one price, double extra large costs more' and the customer ALWAYS says...." I only need 3 dozen shirts-they're all normal sizes...6 medium, 12 large, 12 extra large, and 6 double extra large"....duh...... I use a pricing program I setup with Filemaker Pro on my mac-and the entire price list for Sanmar, Alpha, and others is in it-so I can plug in the style number, quantities, and sizes for all shirts-and we deliberately gave any item with multiple size pricing a separate code for each size-so there is NO making mistakes. Saves arguing everytime. Shirts might be only $1 to $3 additional, but jackets and sweatshirts can be over $10 different. Roland
