These beeps have been on every industrial muulti- or single-head amchine I have 
personally operated; and to me they are there for our protection- "move your 
fingers away" is what it means to me.  Way back in the early 80's, I ran Saurer 
1040 machines- they are so big you cant see all areas of the m/c at once time, 
so before we started/restarted the machine, we YELLED "fingers" every time- 
same thing here, I think.  Maybe annoying, but from a safety standpoint, very 
smart.
