We ended up using adhesive backing strips on both parts of the hoops-quilted linings on jackets, nylon jackets, would pop the hoops right apart without it. Just cut the adhesive backing in 1" strips and wind it like a candy cane or cut in 1/2" strips and stick it inside the bottom hoop, outside the top hoop. Roland
