I found something interesting I thought I would share to the group. First of all, since I have my own domain name and my email provider supplies me with up to 1000 email addresses, I found it easier to use filters to sort my email by creating a unique email address for each supplier. So if I receive an email from Broder, the email automatically gets dropped into the Broder folder without any interaction on my part. So this morning, I was checking my email and found 3 spam emails (nothing related to embroidery or shirts and I won't repeat the subject lines here because some people might get offended. You all know spam when you see it.) They were all sent to Broder@ (my domain). Now I'm wondering how some spammer got that email address. My guess is 2 things happened here, either Broder is selling email address or some spammer hacked their system and got all customer data from them. I'm sure I probably won't get a good answer from them as for why this happened. Being that I have a network security background, this is one of the reasons why I am on a cash basis with suppliers. I don't want my social security number thrown all over the place. If someone abuses my credit card, I can call the bank and have a new one issued as well as deny charges. _________________________________________________________________ Join the next generation of Hotmail and you could win the adventure of a lifetime http://www.imagine-msn.com/minisites/sweepstakes/mail/register.aspx
