It depends on what the market will bear. If they were selling them before
for $12 then they probably want to still sell them for that and still make a
profit. If I were to bid this I would do them for $7 each. Now I have 12
heads so running 100 hats at 7500 stitches would take me 8-10 hours on my 2
head. Making $500 on my 2 head is not bad considering I do contract work on
it all the time where I make $300 a day. You can send the hats to me and I
would do them as contract work for $3.50 each and you could make $1.50 per
hat for doing nothing other than drop shipping the hats to me and delivering
them. Or as Roland said you can have one of the overseas or large
embroidery places do them for $4 each and make $3 a hat for contracting it
out. Sometimes the smaller shops eigher have to contract out, make little
money per item or pass on orders to make it. There is no reason to run low
paying jobs on a single head which ties it up so you can't get your higher
paying jobs done when you can have contractors do it that are used to making
the lower $$$ per item but are reliant on quantities. You also need to make
sure that if you do contract it out that you use one that does quality work
with good turn times.
