I don't do very many, I use a web-site www.propay.com it work well. You
have to do it on-line, but has a size limit if you plan to do a lot of $$$

Steve
I went through that ordeal a year or so ago. I checked everywhere and talked
to a dozen vendors. They came out of the woodwork. One guy was actually
charging 15% of the transaction. You read it right fifteen percent! I
finally went to my bank, Key Bank, who processes with Nova System. The rep
had some wiggle room and was very accommodating. I bought my machine from
Nova for less than $200 with the printer attachment. They were the cheapest
I could find for a new machine, even on EBAY. My fees are $25.00 a month if
the volume doesn't generate that amount in fees. Sometimes it doesn't if I
don't want to work. I pay the standard rate just like everyone else. 1.3%
sticks in the back of my mind. They do want you to keep a certain balance in
their bank though or have a credit line with them. I did both. It doesn't
have to be much. They will tell you. But if your ADB is in the range of your
monthly volume I think you should be OK. I know some people tell horror
stories they encounter with customers who want to charge back and so forth.
I have never had that experience but then I try not to do retail with the
general public any more than I have to. One of the blessings of not having a
storefront.

Subject: [amayausers] Best Credit Card Processing?

Hi,
We are getting setup and the Amaya XT's arrived today.
Thanks Everyone for all your help. Soo much still to do.

Does anyone have a good Credit Card Processing Service?

It seems like they all charge a lot of extra fees, hidden charges, etc.
It's difficult to compare. Some want $1600 for a machine, some want $300,
Some have monthly fees, per transaction fees, Internet monthly fee, % of
sale, invoice fee, etc.

Anything out there that is affordable, limited monthly fees, takes MC and
Visa?

We would do mostly phone in sales and sales from our web site shopping cart.
In person sales we could phone in or use a credit card machine. Looking for
an affordable option since I don't except a great deal of business for the
first six months.

Looked talked to local bank and Costco so far.

Thanks,
  Steve
