How new is the IPhone? What do you remember doing the last time the speaker worked?

I have, with voiceover, gone to turn on the song, and then the two fingers
double tap to start playback. I've also gone to the play button, unplug the
headphones, and double tap. Still the same result, nothing plays. What about
cleaning the dock connector, As suggested by a friend?

Do you mean you couldn't start playback? Just have a sighted person do
it so you're sure it is playing. You might also try inserting and
removing headphones a few times while the music is playing. Also, in
case you haven't tried it, go to settings, sounds, ringer and alerts
volume and have a sighted person confirm it is not set to 0. If the
volume buttons don't work, this is your only way to verify the volume
setting.

I wish that was the case, I do, but the volume click won't even sound

Or that the physical volume with the headphones disconnected, is all the
way up? Might have put itself at zero, thus that's why the speaker
doesn't sound?

Have you considered to do a factory restore?

Hi,

I am unable to receive any sound from the internal speaker of my
iPhone whatsoever. It works with headphones but not with speaker.
I've had cited verification that the volume overlay that shows when
you turn up and down the volume is not showing at all. The only
thing I can think to do is to take it in and since I don't have a
warranty that's going to be expensive. Is there anything else I can
try before I do that? Thanks. With questions, concerns or issues not
