Hi John,

In this case you may need to download the Flash uninstaller utility. If you
go to http://www.adobe.com and hit the troubleshooting section, I believe it
is in there. Uninstall Flash, then go back to a flash web site, and it
should ask you to download it again.

All the best

Steve

Hi Steve, still get no response from alt n. I'm wondering now if it's got
something to do with my security settings. I've tried changing the security
settings, then, having got a friend to download flash player and send it to
me tried to install it. It installed, but it didn't show in the manage add
ons list, and when I went to websites that required flash they said I didn't

have it. It's distinctly odd, as I had flash player prior to my last format
and everything was fine. I ran sfc in case something had been corrupted, but

still got the same result. It's only flash player that's behaving like this.

The AVG safe search plug in installed fine, and likewise the text aloud plug

in. There's something wrong somewhere.
                    John.
