Hi Phil,

The problem doesn't arise with newer phones, you don't even lose information
contained on it when you update.

All the best

Steve

Lol indeed Barry - I really thought my phone had had it but thankfully not!!

Will think twice about upgrading phone software again though...!!

Cheers,

lol

Shows how much i know nowadays about phones.

I'd an N91 which i sold last February and have been stuck with my very old
6680 ever since.

Phil I'm glad Steve saved you a hassle and no doubt awkward conversation at
your phone shop.

Barry.

Hi Phil,

If you have your phone back, I would expect no Talks. When you update an
older phone like the N70, you lose everything on it.

So all you need to do now is reinstall Talks, then go into Talks, then
Options, Registration, then Restore Registration.

All the best

Steve

Barry,

That was my fear...I have got the phone back but no Talks...one step at a
time...

I may be calling Mr. Nutt in the morning!

Phil,

This is commonly known as a bricked phone.

Take into your local phone shop and providing it's still within warranty
they should post it off to Nokia who'll either fix it or offer you a
refurbished N70.

Regards,

Barry.

Subject: [access-uk] urgent - updating N70 software

Hi,

Ever done something which seemed like a good idea at the time but which in
hindsight you greatly regret...!!

This evening I thought I'd try and get my N70 up to the latest firmware, I
went on to the Nokia PC suite tool, went to the "web" menu, downloaded the
Nokia phone update software, started going through the process however I'd
forgotten there was sometimes a dodgy connection with my Nokia USB cable and
part way through the update process it lost connection and now my phone is
dead, black screen, nothing happening.

So my question is have I wrecked my phone completely, is there any way I can
get it back and oh yes how much is rhis going to cost me - I was on the look
out for a new mobile but I didn't envisage having to do it so soon.

All help gratefully received.

Phil
