I agree Peter. It is very frustrating.

I've subscribed to the talks list now as well and generated about 30 emails
on this.

People have either got sighted help or it's been fluked it seems and I can't
get any word on any documentation available.

I'm not asking to be hand held I'll read anything that'll get me up and
running.

I've been asking all over the place.

Alot of people seem to be sus cause I bought it off Ebay.
I bought it off a high ranking Ebay shop that I've bought from before and
who even replyed to my question about the phone's UI last night.

The time/date have been set and the menus have not been altered from the
oridginal nokia menu structure.

The seller explained to me that if it's locked to a network they can use
their own menu theme.

I'm having to hoof it from lisburn to Whiteabbey today to see if anyones
about in my student digs that could read the screen for me. I doubt it
though.

I don't and will go to whatever length I have to to get it read to me, but
it's ridiculous that common keystrokes can't be given to get me to a common
place on each phone so we can start from their.

I plan on writing up a how to on this once I get this thing talking. Maybe
it's time to open source the docs if Nuance don't have any that tell
somebody who's totally blind without some sighted at home to read the
screen?

I'm not too proud to ask for help but it becomes very old quickly!

Barry

Hi Steave.

Won't have a pair of eyes till xmas.

And you know what that can be like on xmas day.

Did the steps i went through sound correct?

Do I need to allow install files and if so any idea what the keystrokes are?

Is their any documentation for this?

Thanks
Barry

Hi Barry,

Sounds like there is an error in the install process. This is why I always
say that for a first time install, you need a pair of eyes around. Best to
find some peepers and see what is going on.

All the best

Subject: [access-uk] installing talks 3g On N91

hi all.

I've got a n91.

Bought brand new and unlocked.

Is there any documentation for installing talks?

i've it connected to the pc suite no problems.

I've the talks files no problem.

Can some kind person do a step by step for me?

Here's mine that I did.

1. Turned phone on,

2. Set location, and time/date in the form
0706
date: 201206

3. Connected usb cable.

4. down arrowed once on phone and hit select to connect it to the pc.

5. Hit enter on the elaquince file in explorer and said yes to install.

6. Kept hitting key one during install untill i heard the high pitch beep
to say it had completed.

7. hit enter on the talks file and did the same I did on the elaquince
file.

Except the talks file does a low tone bleep at me several times.

I do not get anything talkign to me.

is there a launch talks keystroke?

Can somebody provide me with where the talks key is on the n91?

Any documentation woudl be greately appreciated.

Cheers
Dj paddy
