Janet,
If your laptop has a numberpad with and insert key on it, it’s that insert key.
If you don’t have a numberpad, it will usually be the caps lock key – provided
that the keyboard lay-out has been set to laptop. This option is found in the
basic settings of JAWS.
If this looks too complicated, you could unload JAWS by pressing alt+f4 while
focussed on JAWS, and then pressing enter.
Once JAWS has been unloaded, press control+alt+up arrow and then restart JAWS –
usually by pressing control+Alt+j.
Let us know how you get on.

Janet,
My apologies; you must be using JAWS, so press the JAWS key +number 3 on the
qwerty keyboard and then control +alt +up arrow.
The JAWS key +3 tells JAWS to ignore the next keystroke and it should work then.
Let me know how you get on.
Best,
Richard
