Hi Alison
Now I'm in a similar boat as I am about to start an OU module on Creative
Writing. For assignments, we are asked to produce text in a Serif font,
size 12, double-line spacing, header with name and Personal Identifier
number, footer with page number, and the first line of each paragraph
indented apart from the first one after a heading. I am using Word 2013 on
the machine where most of my work will be done. I wouldn't even pretend to
know all the shortcuts, but I have achieved it, and find the JAWS command
insert with F really helpful as it tells me all the attributes I need to
know. I found the indenting a bit tricky when I set up a sample because my
Braille display appeared to indicate an indent at the end of the paragraph
rather than at the start. But using insert F kept me right in that regard.
George Bell kindly kept me right with this as he has written a fantastic
guide to Word keystrokes that he might be kind enough to share. Personally
I'd sell it if I were him because it's a fabulous reference to have.

I belong to a Creative Writing Group and this evening I received an
attachment from our tutor whicvh is a template for when we submit our work
(either to the class or - if we are feeling bold - to an editor).
What she is wanting is for the first paragraph to be left-aligned but
subsequent paragraphs to be indented. She'd hoped that her template would do
this automatically but it seems that it depends on what settings you have
yourself in MS Word.
Does anyone know how I can achieve this automatically or must I continue to
do this manually?
