I thought that a hanging paragraph was when the first line of a paragraph
was at the lefthand margin but all subsequent lines are indented.
Forgive me, I'm not verbalising this very well! Let's try again:
So, my text will be in double line spacing.
My first paragraph should start at the lefthand margin.
Subsequent paragraphs should be indented by five spaces.
My feeling is, rightly or wrongly, just like bullets or numbers, once you
start, everytime you press enter you get another bullet or the next number.
So, what I am wondering is that if I initially insert five spaces on the
first paragraph (even though I ultimately want this left aligned), and then
press enter for the next and all subsequent paragraphs, hopefully Word will
automatically insert all subsequent paragraphs when I press the enter key.
When I have finished, I should then be able to go back and delete the five
spaces at the beginning of paragraph 1, so it is against the left margin,
but this will still leave subsequent paragraphs indented.
So, I think that what I am wanting is to know how to set up Word so it
indents paragraphs.
