It's not just convenience, although it's easy and fast to transfer html and
txt files without running a convertion, it's personal preference too.  I'm
not a big fan of the voices available for txt files converted to mp3, and
you can't alter change the rate once the files are in mp3 format and on the
machine.  You can change speed and pitch when listening to a txt file.
