[access-uk] anyone using speakup and linux

Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone on the list is currently using speakup?
I had a basic debian system some years ago but did not progress much
due to lack of time.
I now have a caddy and removeable hard drives so I can dedicate a
drive to linux.
So, I am looking for directions as to get a linux distro installed
with speakup and get the hardware recognised so that I can set about
learning linux.
