I think you will be pleased with the VRS if you do. I find it invaluable
and reliable. I use mine every day, it has great battery life, and really
does what it says in the blurb. In fact, if I had to choose a couple of
products to take with me to a desert island or somewhere equally remote, my
VRS would be one of those items, I like it that much for reading books.

I didn't have Audible set up on the Pocket so couldn't really give a
definitive answer to that, but I don't see why it would be more difficult on
it to any other device unless there is something I am not aware of.

I'm inclined to agree with you Jackie, I never use my pocket to record from,
so for me that is a wasted component and they probably charge much more
because of that facility but like you I have an Olympus, so thanks. You'll
probably see my message to Pele but is it easier to download from Audible
than it was for the pocket?

Yes I did, some time ago now.
The Stream and the Pocket offer full DAISY navigation, ability to play
Audible books, music and Internet radio. But I personally think the new
generation VRS is quicker to connect to stations. The Pocket is a much
superior recorder than the VRS.
But I prefer the Stream every time. I like the menu voice, and can't abide
those terrible music tones the Pocket has that you can never get rid of
altogether.
I guess it is very subjective Mandy, everyone will have an opinion on what
is better or worse when comparing these things. For me, the VRS is the best
of all the DAISY players, and if I wanted to do serious recording, I would
do so on an Olympus.

the stream to the pocket? I'd like to know the differences because my pocket
is looking a bit worse for wear and that is what I'd like to save for.

I have a Victor Reader Stream and really like it. I don't know about
Audible, but I understand it works well. DAISY navigation is good and so is
navigation for other books.
Music is ok, although I believe you will get better sound from an MP3
player.
You can also get internet radio and download podcasts, although Humanware
are still trying to sort out some bugs with this.
