I don’t see a date, Google has an event on 8th September so you never know?
There are two versions, one is currently £30 for the audio only model, or
£69 for audio and video model.  I have no idea what the new version will
offer in addition to what there is, but it’ll be interesting to know once
it’s out there.

Hi Jackie

You can get the chrome cast stick for £30 on Amazon at moment, that seems to
be the best price I found but I haven’t really looked into it as I have some
Amazon account credit which I need to use so thought why not. Where is the
new chrome cast expected to drop? I could use this one for the bedroom TV
and put the new one in the lounge :-) I have two televisions.

I’m going to buy one as well, but will wait for the new Chromecast to come
out and see what it offers compared to what there is already.

I’m seriously thinking about buying a chrome cast because of the
inaccessibility of many of the apps. I am a Google one number so I think I
can get 10% off at the Google online store. It will save me a lot of
frustration, it’s unfortunate that apps aren’t accessible but I’m not going
to blame the manufacturer because ultimately it is the developer who has
that responsibility. Take care.

The best experience for ITV Hub is to use a Chromecast and cast it to your

Hi Phil

My LGTV 49 edge model number LM7400BPLA has a wide leg which clips to the
back of the television. The television can also be mounted to the wall using
a standard TV mount. Hope this helps. PS Disney+ appears to work quite well
on the TV as that app has been developed in collaboration with LG for this
particular operating system. ITV hub I can’t get to work and I suspect it is
one of those apps which is a website inside a virtual environment which
makes it all that impossible for me to use. Good luck and happy hunting.

There are record and play buttons on the remote so I am assuming these are
what you would use for working with an external device?

I can't see anything on the tech specs that mentions recording. If it does
record then the remote will surely have a button that says record.If it does
record then I'll be in the queue to buy one.

For those who've been following this thread, I just want to offer a 
quick update to my search for an accessible TV.  I've finally gone with 
an Lg 43UN73006LC 43" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR LED TV with Google 
Assistant & Amazon Alexa.  My sisters-in-law and I went to the shop 
this morning so that I could ask the relevant questions and have a play 
with the TV.  The chap turned on both Voice Guide and Audio 
Description, and let me handle its remote control.  The voice is 
English Serena so she is better than the voice used on Samsung models 
to be honest.  This particular TV has dual tuners, Freeview and Freesat 
which was one of the features I was looking for.  Voice Guide reads all 
the menus, channel information and the EPG.  They didn't have Alexa or 
Google Assistant configured, but the one remote control does it all, 
there is no need to buy a Magic remote.  It's coming on Saturday when the
guy will set it up for us.

My only reservation is whether the Sonos Playbase will allow me to 
control the volume of the TV through its remote control.  The Playbase 
has an Optical cable that goes between it and the TV.  The newer 
models, Beam and Arc, have HDMI ports on them.  I don't see why it 
wouldn't work because our existing TV works perfectly with Playbase, we
bought them at the same time.
I did take a look at the Beam while I was in the shop today as it was 
near me, but I don't want to replace my Playbase if I can help it, I like
it.

So if anyone is looking for a new TV, then throw LG into the mix.  I'll 
get a Chromecast eventually so I can cast any external apps that aren't 
accessible through my phone.

Thanks for all the help, feedback and potential model numbers, it's 
been an interesting week or two.
