Hi Steve - Thanks for this. Just been looking, and can't figure out how to remove apps from the apps switcher? Also opened my podcast app [Apples own] and there appears to be no way to set it to download only when wi-fi is available. However, I have been downloading podcasts manually, rather than subscribing and have them download automatically, so maybe that's why I'm not seeing a wi-fi only download option? - Andy ----- Original Message ----- From: Steve Nutt To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, January 29, 2013 7:15 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Smart phones and roaming charges Hi Andy, No, pressing home is not enough. Make sure the apps are not in the app switcher. Also, make sure that apps such as podcast clients are set to download over wifi only when away. It appears with the iPhone the apps are closed until they are double tapped and they open, but is pressing the home button for the home screen, enough to close the app and prevent sneaky downloads? - Andy ----- Original Message ----- From: Steve Nutt To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, January 29, 2013 12:47 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Smart phones and roaming charges Hi, Simple. She had her phone set for roaming, and it did what it was told. If you have apps running in the background, like podcast clients, or Facebook even, or Twitter, they are all downloading. I was left wondering how this might happen? Anybody know? - Andy
