Hi Andy, As Mike says, many smart phones have roaming turned off by default, meaning you wont download data unless you connect your phone to a wireless network or deliberately turn it back on. As an illustration of how easy charges might wrack up though, when I went to Canada, 3 told me I could use web and email for £10/mb. If you think that a smart phone might do a lot of background updating (social network activity, checking apps are up-to-date etc), not to mention any surfing or emailing that you might do yourself, I can see how charges might get to the £750 mark. I was left wondering how this might happen? Anybody know? - Andy
