Wendy, I don't know if this helps, but have you tried going into Internet options in Control Panel, control tabbed to the advanced page, opened the browsing section of the settings tree view, then press space to turn on the option that says, "Show Internet Explorer on Desktop"? It isn't a real problem, as pressing windows key, P and I launches it ok, but I usually prefer to launch things from the desktop. Looking through programs on the start menu, I can't find a way to send a shortcut to the desktop. Pressing the applications key does nothing, and if you press alt that just takes you away from the start menu. I should know this, as I have been using JAWS for years, but could some kind soul remind me how to create a desktop shortcut for any program. Many thanks.
