Wendy, here's another way to do it if your applications key won't work.
Go to the root of your hard drive either through My Computer or via the run
command. Now find your Program files folder Now find Internet Explorer. Now
find a file called iexplore.exe. When that is highlighted, pull down the
files menu and select... Send to. From here you can create a shortcut on the
desktop.
