Not really, Harry. 1 Byte still equals 8 Bits.

Subject: [access-uk] Query About a New 400GB External HD

Hi List.

I've just bought and connected a new Maxtor 400GB external
hard drive, and=20
found to my confusion - it must be said - that on checking
its properties=20
after installing, it only showed as having a capacity of
372GB, 28GB short!

Can anyone offer any kind of explanation as to where my
missing 28GB may=20
have gone? Surely a drop of 28GB is a little on the large
side?

Regards.
