So what action  have you  taken,  Steve?

I  don't think that's  legal.

Take  a look at Ofcom's site.
www.ofcom.co.uk

It says
"What services must telephone companies provide to customers
with disabilities?

Under Ofcom rules, telephone companies (fixed and mobile) that provide
voice telephone services are obliged to provide a number of services
for customers with disabilities."

Further down it says

. Free directory enquiries and onward connection - this service is
available for users unable to use a printed directory - usually people
who are blind or with visual difficulties, but also people with
dexterity
problems who cannot lift the directory or turn the pages. The service
is
PIN-protected and is accessed by dialling 195."

Have difficulty  getting the  link direct to the right
age,  but do a google  search  for ofcom access 195

Regards,  Derek

Yeah, I know that but I mean if you dial 195 when your service is with
plusnet, you go through to BT but you are charged for it.

Steve,

You always get charged if they connect you, even with BT.

All the best

Unfortunately, it's chargeable and the problems is that you still goe
through to Directory Enquiries but are charged.  If they put you
through,
you get charged for the connection.

Hi Steve,

Interesting, I hadn't realised that.  I guess it shows how little I"ve
used
195 in the recent past.

Is the call a chargeable call or does the number simply not work?
Think I"ll
register a complaint.

Many thanks,

Ed

What I would say though re plusnet is that if you have your phone

recently left plus net because of this reason.

Hi John,

I also like Plusnet tech support, though I've never used BT
Internet's so
don't know how it compares.  I've found BT support generally (for
phones
etc) to be consistently rubbish, so also switched my phone to
Plusnet
a while ago.

I'm with Sky for TV only, and Plusnet allows you to get BT sport
via
your
Sky box.  It's pricy though.  Unlike with BT, you don't get access
to
BT Sport online this way though.

I'm not sure whether Plusnet offer BT Sport on a platform other
than
Sky,
they may well do.

Cheers,

Ed
