I had a similar call not long ago. The unknown male voice simply said, hello,
hello, hello. I assumed it was a wrong number or someone who'd been on Jupiter
for the last 40 years and had never heard of an answering machine. I leave my
land-line on answer all the time, and only answer calls that spark off the
caller ID. Trouble is, many organisations making quite legitimate calls
withhold their numbers, which to me seems all wrong. What have they got to
hide? This includes Social Services and Age UK. And my mystery caller.
