Hi Andy.

They will let you deliver to another address, but they still check with the
card billing address as I believe they use a fraud watch system as supplied by
NatWest. This database contains details of addresses that have been associated
with fraudulent activity, so Eleanor's order probably would never be fulfilled
or delivered to any address. The only way round her problem would be to change
her card's billing address and then deliver goods to the new billing address.

  Hi Eleanor -

I've shopped online and with Play for about 8 years now, and never had any
bad experiences, so firstly, let me reassure you that it is a safe environment
to shop, obviously there are some dodgy retailers on line, but if you stick to
the tried and Trusted, and those that have an HTTPS at the front of their
online address, you'll be ok, and most if not all credit card companies protect
against online fraud, as long as you have kept your details private.

Play will let you deliver to another address in most cases, I understand that
this is rather inconvenient, and that you are being disadvantaged because of
the behavior of somebody else in your block of flats, but bear in mind, the
culprit here isn't the Internet, or Play, but the criminal in your building.

Good luck in finding a way around this experience -

  Andy

    Hi
I purchased a lite-on DVD drive from play.com. This has not arrived but I
was prepared to be patient. Today I telephoned them to find out what on earth
is going on. I had very poor telephone service and the person on the phone
started off by insisting that I had ordered a USB hard drive. Once we
established that I had not and we established exactly what I had ordered he
then went off the line to see what the problem was. When he came back to me he
told me that the account had been stopped and closed. naturally enough i
wanted to know why so again he disappeared for some minutes. When he came back
he said my account had been stopped because of Fraud at my address. Before you
all get excited, no Fraud took place from my home but I live in a block of
flats, 8 flats in all. He said that one of the people in the building had been
guilty of fraud and for this reason play.com will not take any orders from my
address. I am very disappointed about this. The fact that they did not let me
know in writing and the fact that I have been peanalised due to someone else's
fraudulent behaviour. Sad to say this was my very first experience of ordering
on line, maybe my last now. He told me that I will NEVER be able to make an
order with play.com from my address!!!!

      Hi.

Sorry, stupid me put the wrong phone number in. The number is
08458001020 not 08451232000. Mixing things up a little I was *grin*.

Thanks Ibraham, I'd never have thought of that. More I T knowledge for
me. It is so frustrating. Nothing on my CD/DVD drive yet. Just been talking
to Brendan about NC10. Can't believe all the popularity in this and how so
many visually impaired people have purchased it.

          Hi Eleanor.

You need to disable hide similar task bar buttons in the control
panel. Go to settings/control panel/taskbar and start menu options and then
find the checkbox that says hide similar taskbar buttons and untick it. Each
task should now appear as a separate item on the taskbar.

Hi I do not know why but on this partikcular machine say if I have
3 word documents open and 3 e-mails in Outlook Express then on the taskbar I
will see word document and the number 3 and an arrow and the same on Outlook
Express on the Task Bar. I find it very frustrating then finding the document
or e-mail I want to read or write. Can anyone help me with regard to moving
through the particular documents and e-mails as at the moment I am trying to
mess around with the mouse and it is very frustrating and taking me some time.
Another strange thing is that I am using Supernova 10 and in Word where I have
word echo on it does not say the correct word yet it writes the correct word
when I read it back line by line to check. I wonder if this problem with
Supernova can be fixed by Dolphin.

            Eleanor
