Yes, Andy, sorry about that, and George Bell's reply should get you a more
useful summary of what you've got there. That is, properties under 'my
computer! reached via the context menu or alt plus enter whilst on the My
Computer icon.th

Maybe its the wrong time and place to say it, especially as you've bought a new
computer, but I cannot help thinking a new machine with Vista already installed
is a better alternative to upgrading, though I hope for your sake that upgrading
if and when you do that, turns out to be less of a problem than I fear it might
be.

I certainly hope it is a Media Center version of Windows you have there as I
recall you did particularly want that. I believe Window-Eyes does work quite
well with Media Center, though I've had no cause to try it.

Hi Ray.

It Said Microsoft XP Home version 5.1.....

But it was supposed to be a Media Center computer, or be it, shipped with XP
Home to get me started. I've got a CD titled Quick Start Media Center and
Pauline attempted, last weekend to install this, but it just sat there
doing nothing. Perhaps I need to try it again. I've never seen a Media
Center computer Ray so whould not know the difference. I'm having loads of
problems and doubts about moving from XP home to Media Center and from JAWS
to WindowEyes. I'm seriously thinking of moving back to JAWS, but I'd need
to spend a bunch to access Media Center. I'd need JAWS Pro eh? From
version 6.0 to Pro ver 8 would cost me a bomb, and I've just spend a couple
of quid moving to WindowEyes. I even bought a new computer which has a crap
sound card and speakers and the monitor looks prettty poor also. Not my
week at all eh?

Best wishes and thanks for the advice.

Andy
