  Hi Brenda.

I have a Dell which is a 13 inch screen so fairly small.

I have had a few teething roubles with this machine: it seems a bit
temperamental where the settings on the screen are concerned because I had
trouble with Jaws but it's fine now.
You can only purchase Dell through the Company though.
I know you can get very small Toshiba's now if size is a priority.

As for battery life: I paid extra for a better battery and get about five
hours from it but I made a mistake with my previous Toshiba and kept the laptop
on the mains all the time with the battery connected: either remove the
battery when connected to the mains or, as I tend to do, make sure you use the
battery fully at least once a week.

Hope that not very technical advice is helpful.

  Mandy.

Brenda, I have a Toshiba "notebook", and, indeed, it's lighter than a
laptop, but it is still bulkier if you want to use it out and about (I now
own a BrailleNote mPower, so will use that for my travelling needs). Not
sure about the screen as I'm a totally blind person, but I believe it would
be smaller than a laptop. In terms of battery life, though, it's not good.
You only tend to get about just over an hour before it discharges fully.
However, this may just be my particular machine, I don't know. Also, my
battery's refusing to charge now, a year after I bought it, so just
something to be aware of. Hope this helps, and happy shopping!
