Yeah, true, the independence thing, I could have got any laptop, but at the time, Toshiba was what I chose, and I'm happy with it. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve Nutt" <steve@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi Chris, Independence? I couldn't work out how Toshes gave you more independence than any other notebook <Smile>. I think it's known for Toshiba laptops to have ashorter battery life, but that wasn't the reason why I chose Toshiba. It waspurely reliability, acceptance with screen readers, and, most importantly for me at least, independence.----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve Nutt" <steve@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, August 26, 2007 8:39 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Notebook computersHi Chris, Must be your machine. I have a Fujitsu-Siemens notebook, and I get about five hours' battery life. It only weighs 1.3KG, so it is very small indeed. Not sure about the screen as I'm a totally blind person, but I believe it wouldbe smaller than a laptop. In terms of battery life, though, it's not good. You only tend to get about just over an hour before it discharges fully. However, this may just be my particular machine, I don't know. Also, my battery's refusing to charge now, a year after I bought it, so just something to be aware of. Hope this helps, and happy shopping!----- Original Message ----- From: "red alert" <red.alert@xxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, August 25, 2007 4:05 PM Subject: [access-uk] Notebook computersHi there,I am considering purchasing a laptop but have been told by a friend thatthere are now smaller than laptop computers known as notebook pcs. They have a much smaller screen and battery life is better than the laptops I have been told. Does anyone have 1 of these and if sohow do you find it? Any information or contact details where they can bepurchased would really be appreciated. Also I would be grateful if anyone could give me contact details for the association of blind and partially sighted teachers and students thanks in anticipation Brenda ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
